Psion/Symbian designs
Nick Healey, founder of Slash Design Ltd, previously spent 13 years
trying to make Psion and Symbian devices do what people wanted, in
ways they could understand, as:
- Head of Product Design at Symbian, managing the team responsible
for software specification and UI design of new Symbian OS
smartphones.
- Lead designer on two Symbian smartphone platforms, released as
the Nokia 9210 and Sony Ericsson P800 products.
- Member of the Executive Committee managing Psion Software PLC
(renamed Symbian Ltd when it became jointly owned by Nokia, Ericsson
and Motorola).
- Head of the Design Team for the Psion Series 5 software - a suite
of PDA apps called EPOC32, the first version of "Symbian OS", winning
many awards
- Designer and project leader for Psion's PC communications
software, "PsiWin", winner of a Ziff Davis "Best European Software"
award.
- Lead UI / functionality designer for Psion's multiple
award-winning Series 3, 3a, 3c PDAs.
