History of the Henley Arts Trail
Kate Findlay (chairman of the Henley Art & Crafts Guild), Judith Fletcher and Kirsten Jones set up the first Henley Arts Trail in 2006. The Trail has grown in size & strength each year and is now a significant event in Henley's social calendar. The Trail is opened each year by the Mayor of Henley.
The trail is a showcase of the finest talent, with artwork by over 150 award-winning, established & up-and-coming artists. It includes painting & drawing, jewellery, wood turning, textiles, ceramics, glass, sculpture and photography. Whether you are looking for a centrepiece for your home, a present for someone special, or just some bank holiday entertainment, we have something for everyone.
In 2010 there are 20 venues along a trail from Bix in Oxfordshire to Twyford in Berkshire. An eclectic mix of venues includes galleries, village halls, a manor house and a museum as well as artists' home studios. Visitors can go to as many venues as they like - there is a Prize Draw for visitors who go to 4 or more venues, just fill in the entry on the brochure.
